Temporary closure on Saturdays from April
The Groß-Gerau city library will be temporarily closed on Saturdays from April 1, 2025. The measure was decided as part of the provisional household management in order to identify savings potential and use resources more efficiently.
“In the current financial situation, all urban benefits must be checked. The reduction in opening times by one day makes it possible to save personnel costs as well as energy and electricity costs. The Saturday closure is initially a temporary measure. How long it will last depends on the further financial development of the district town, ” explains Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau .
Opening times will remain four days a week
Despite the temporary closure on Saturday, the city library remains an important point of contact for reading enthusiasts and those interested in culture. The event program and all other offers from the library are continued unchanged.
The city library will be open at the following times:
📖 Tuesday: 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
📖 Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
📖 Thursday: 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
📖 Friday: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
The city of Groß-Gerau asks for understanding this adaptation and is still looking forward to numerous visitors.
