Temporary closure on Saturdays from April
The Groß-Gerau city library will be temporarily closed on Saturdays starting April 1, 2025. This measure was decided upon as part of the preliminary budget process to identify potential savings and use resources more efficiently.
“Given the current financial situation, all municipal services must be reviewed. Reducing opening hours by one day will allow us to save on personnel, energy, and electricity costs. The Saturday closure is initially a temporary measure. How long it will remain in effect depends on the further financial development of the district town,” explains Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau .
Opening hours four days a week will remain unchanged
Despite the temporary closure on Saturday, the city library remains an important resource for book lovers and culture enthusiasts. The event program and all other library services will continue unchanged.
The city library will be open at the following times in the future:
📖 Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📖 Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📖 Thursday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📖 Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
