Common regional strategy for the Groß-Gerau region
The abbreviation Olov stands for optimizing local mediation work in the transition school profession. This is exactly what the Olov control round has continued to work intensively, share the Groß-Gerau district or the Olov region Groß-Gerau: The control round, together with the chambers, has developed the regional Olov strategy 2025-2028.
This is intended to improve the transition from young people from school to work and secure the growth of skilled workers in the long term. The Olov Control Course includes representations of the city of Rüsselsheim am Main, the city of Kelsterbach, the Groß-Gerau district, the state school office, the employment agency and the municipal job center.
In the Olov strategy, the regional goals for the transition school profession are determined. It aims to bundle projects and measures in the transition from school to work and coordinate them - also to avoid double structures and to ensure the quality in the area of professional orientation.
The district council decision set in 2018 that "nobody leaves school without a secure connection perspective" is top priority. The focus is on the precisely precise mediation and support of young people. Through close cooperation between the actors, the quality of the projects, offers and measures in professional orientation is continuously evaluated and optimized. Special target groups such as young people with multiple problems, newly immigrants or students in inclusive schooling receive suitable offers.
A central component of the new regional strategy is the increased involvement of parents in the professional orientation process of their children. In addition to the individual advice of young people by the employment agency, the career planning of the district and the municipal job center, new formats are also being developed in order to inform parents of early and comprehensive information about professional perspectives and educational channels. A exam day of the Olov control round in May 2025 is intended to develop new ideas for parent work.
Practical insights through internships, career orientation days and trial days in companies are crucial to successfully design the transition to the world of work. The cooperation between the regional companies and the actors of the transition school profession is strengthened in order to optimally impart training positions and internship offers. Everyone involved works closely together to offer young people the best possible opportunities for their professional future. The digital recording and regular publication of the offers on the homepage www.bo-suedhessen.de and transparent communication make it easier to access the career orientation offers.
“With this regional strategy, we rely on increased public relations and innovative innovations to make the transition from school to work even more effective. I thank everyone involved for their commitment and support in the implementation of our regional Olov strategy, ”says district administrator Thomas Will.
“The strategy is the result of close cooperation and an intensive exchange between the local actors. The various perspectives that were brought in by the chambers, the school office and the employment agency will continue to help us develop precisely precise solutions for the transition school, ”explains Murat Karakaya, Mayor City of Rüsselsheim am Main.
