The magistrate of the science city of Darmstadt has decided to expand the parking space management periods in the Lincoln settlement and in the Ludwigshöhviertel . In the future, the management will apply daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. , instead of Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The aim is to reduce parking pressure on Sundays and to promote the use of the neighborhood garages .
"Especially in the evening hours and on weekends there is often a strong occupancy of the public street - often by residents who use free parking outside of regular times. This means that visitors are not parked and sometimes blocked," explains mobility director Paul Georg Wandrey .
More quality of stay through targeted parking management
With the expansion of the times, the situation should be defused. The measure is an important step as part of the desired "mobility peace" , said Wandrey.
