The holidays are approaching – and with them, the need to check your travel bag. Are your passport or ID card still valid? This question can be crucial, as expired documents not only cause stress but can also prevent you from starting your trip.
The Weiterstadt city office therefore recommends checking the validity of identity documents early and applying for new documents in good time . This is due to the current sharp increase in orders nationwide at the Federal Printing Office.
- Identity card : Processing time approximately three weeks
- Passport : Processing time approximately six weeks

Weiterstadt City Office
- Monday, Wednesday: 7:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. (Last acceptance: 5:45 p.m.)
- Tuesday, Thursday: 7:00–12:30
- Friday: 7:00–12:00
Gräfenhausen Town Office
- Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30–12:00
