More safety for the school route to the Schiller School
The City of Darmstadt has announced that a new pedestrian crossing will be installed on Schuknechtstrasse at the intersection with Robert-Schneider-Strasse. Work will begin on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Important intersection for pedestrian traffic
The location is considered a busy area with high pedestrian traffic. It is particularly important as a school route to the Schiller School, and the new crossing is intended to improve safety, especially for children.
Mobility officer Paul Georg Wandrey points to the need that became clear in discussions with citizens. The measure is intended to specifically improve traffic safety at this location.
Construction work until mid-April
The work is expected to be completed in calendar week 16. Temporary traffic disruptions may occur during the construction phase.
