The festival in Groß-Gerau offers three days of music, theatre, cabaret and family program
District of Groß-Gerau. With a traditional tapping of the first keg by District Administrator Thomas Will and Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau, the "Volk im Schloss" festival will open at Dornberg Castle on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The Pfungstadt Brewery is donating 30 liters of free beer for the occasion. The Rubinettes from Groß-Gerau will provide musical accompaniment with swing music from the 1920s to the 1940s.
Friday: Theatre, tribute bands and Colombian sounds
At 6:45 p.m., the BüchnerBühne Riedstadt audiences to 1920s Berlin with "Babylon by Night," accompanied by the BabylonBrass band. From 8:45 p.m. onwards, the SEEED and Peter Fox tribute band Music Monks Doctor Krapula from Colombia leads the night into the night with energetic music at 10:30 p.m.

Saturday: Inclusion, acrobatics, cabaret and international bands
Saturday begins at 3 p.m. with the inclusion project "Razor-sharp." The Artistocrats present artistic street theater at 3:45 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. DE BREAKS The cabaret conference starts at 6:30 p.m. with Martin Fromme, René Sydow, Sister Cordula, and her young forester.
Gringo Mayer & Kegelband perform at 8:15 p.m. , followed by Skinny Lister (9:30 p.m.) and Kakkmaddafakka from Norway (10:45 p.m.).
Sunday: Cultural Promotion Prize, children's program and festival closing
Sunday begins at 11 a.m. with the presentation of the Cultural Promotion Prize to the Büttelborn Youth Wind Orchestra. The Büttelborn Wind Orchestra will perform from noon onwards. At 2:30 p.m., Stage Factory musical excerpts, followed by a children's sing-along party with the DONIKKL Crew at 3:45 p.m. The day concludes at 5 p.m. with the band Mission Possible performing rock and pop classics.
Supporting program for children and art enthusiasts
On Saturday and Sunday, there will be childcare, face painting, balloon modeling, and other hands-on activities. For the first time, international graffiti artists such as ALIEN , SMOK , and CAZO YOURS their skills live.
Culinary offerings and organization

Various stalls offer regional specialties, vegetarian dishes, ice cream, wines, and long drinks. Payment is cash only; some stalls accept card payments. Admission is free on all days. The complete program is available at www.volk-im-schloss.com .
