DONIKKL crew, children's theatre and interactive activities for the youngest guests
When the "Volk im Schloss" festival takes place at Dornberg Castle in Groß-Gerau from August 22nd to 24th, the weekend will be dedicated to families. On Saturday and Sunday, the youngest visitors can expect a diverse children's program with concerts, theater, hands-on activities, and creative games – all free of charge.
Music, participation and lots of fun
The musical festivities kick off on Saturday (August 23rd) at 4 pm with the young punk-pop band DE BREAKS The Voice Kids and The Puppet Stars the band will bring a fresh energy to Dornberg Castle – a highlight for children and young rock fans.
On Sunday (August 24th) starting at 2:30 pm, the award-winning interactive concert party with Marie and Sally from the DONIKKL Crew . The two singers will create a captivating family concert with dance, interactive performances, and feel-good hits. Whether it's pirate adventures, kangaroo hopping, or tiger roars – everyone is invited to join in!
Artistry, humor and family time
The street theatre company "Floristik Fantastik" will bring humorous artistry and quirky scenes to the festival grounds on both days. A story about family relationships unfolds, interwoven with tightrope walking, acrobatics, and musical elements, accompanied by surprising twists and turns and a "randomly" selected audience member.
Creative activities and on-site support
In the play area of the Nestflüchter e. V. , face painting is offered, and balloon artist Rita Wiebe creates colorful figures to take home. The Auszeit diaper-changing and breastfeeding area is available for parents with babies – a well-thought-out offering for relaxed festival moments.
Free entry and opening hours
The "Volk im Schloss" festival takes place as part of the South Hesse Cultural Summer and is supported by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art. It begins on Friday (August 22) at 5 p.m., on Saturday (August 23) at 3 p.m., and on Sunday (August 24) at 11 a.m. All events are free of charge.
