To improve the flow of traffic and security in the city area, the district town of Groß-Gerau will set up new stopping areas on Darmstädter Strasse from March 3, 2025.
Traffic show confirms the need for action
As part of a traffic show in September 2024, the responsible authorities analyzed various traffic situations together with the police and specialist advisors . It was found that there are regular traffic jams Darmstädter Straße between Klein-Gerauer-Straße and Otto-Wels-Straße The lack of alternative possibility for larger vehicles , in particular line buses of public transport .
New stopping zones from March 3, 2025
In order to defuse this bottleneck , an absolute stopping ban (traffic sign 283) house numbers 33 and 42 . An additional sign (traffic signs 1040) complements a temporal restriction - the stopping ban applies from Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Parking remains allowed outside of these times.
