Philharmonie Merck presents an extraordinary concert program on November 22nd.
The Deutsche Philharmonie Merck to a musical highlight at the Staatstheater Darmstadt on November 22, 2025. Under the direction of British conductor Gabriella Teychenné , the evening will feature works ranging from lyrical delicacy to eruptive sonic power.
The concert opens with Lili Boulanger's "D'un matin de printemps ," an impressionistic masterpiece that enchants with its luminous harmony and poetic freshness. Following this, the young German pianist Julius Asal Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor , one of the most beloved works of the Romantic concert repertoire. Asal, a graduate of the Kronberg Academy and an exclusive artist with Deutsche Grammophon, is considered one of the most promising talents of his generation.
The second part of the evening Igor Stravinsky's "The Firebird ." This captivating ballet suite, which tells the story of the battle between good and evil through vibrant music, is considered one of the most important works of the 20th century.
After the main concert, visitors can expect a special highlight: a lounge concert with Julius Asal in the foyer of the main hall , offering an opportunity for an immediate musical experience.
