Exhibition of Vytauta's Butkus shows impressive motifs from nature, city and everyday life
Vytauta's Butkus seen in the art gallery at the Büchnerhaus until May 31 The show is entitled "A Blick extension" and was organized in cooperation with the city's cultural office and the partnership associations "Friends of Tauragė" and "Friends of Germany".
The opening of the exhibition on April 30th, the first day of the European Christmas, was musically accompanied by students from the private Lithuanian high school in Hüttenfeld. First city councilor Ottmar Eberling welcomed the guests and emphasized the long -term and lively town twinning between Riedstadt and Tauragė.
Vytauta's Butkus was born in Tauragė in 1958 and has been a member of the Lithuanian photographer association since 2005. His works have already been shown in numerous exhibitions in Lithuania, Poland, Kaliningrad and the USA. In 2024 he received the "golden framework" in the "Life" category in the "Lithuanian press photography" competition.
The exhibition presents a selection of landscape, architecture and portrait photographs from Lithuania and other countries. Butkus combines impressive lighting moods with a strong image composition. The show is thematically divided into the areas of "nature and the environment", "city and country" and "humans and landscape".
A special highlight: On the International Museum Day on May 18, the exhibition will be shown briefly in the Rennhof Castle in Hüttenfeld From May 20, she will return to the Büchnerhaus , where it will remain open until May 31 .
