New climate protection program supports households in switching to solar energy
The city of Griesheim has approved a new funding program for photovoltaic systems . Households that want to use solar energy in the future can a subsidy of up to €1,175 for a newly installed system – provided it has a capacity of more than two kilowatts peak (kWp) .
“With this new funding program, we are creating financial incentives to encourage even more citizens to opt for a sustainable energy supply,” said climate protection manager Jörg Glock . The goal is to further promote the expansion of renewable energies in Griesheim – also in light of changing legal frameworks.
Application process and funding conditions
The funding budget is €50,000 per year . Since funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, early application .
Eligible for funding are:
- New photovoltaic systems with more than 2 kWp
- Only projects that have not yet begun
- Projects within the city area of Griesheim
- Application to be submitted before the start of the project, including a cost estimate
