The Chopin Society presents two pianists from Poland in February
The Chopin Society Darmstadt invites you to two piano recitals at the Literaturhaus Darmstadt in February. Miłosz Sroczyński and Aleksandra Mikulska, two pianists from Frédéric Chopin's homeland, will perform, highlighting German-Polish cooperation.
The first concert takes place on Thursday, February 19th, at 7 pm. The second concert follows on Saturday, February 28th, at 6 pm. The venue is the Literaturhaus (House of Literature) at Kasinostraße 3. Tickets are available at the door.
Goldberg Variations with Miłosz Sroczyński
The Poznań-born pianist Miłosz Sroczyński dedicates himself to Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations. The work is among Bach's most complex and artful compositions: a simple aria is transformed into 30 variations before finally returning to its original form. Legend has it that the young harpsichordist Johann Gottlieb Goldberg played the work for the sleepless Count Hermann Carl von Keyserlingk.
Sroczyński continued his studies in Hanover, Geneva, Zurich, and London, among other places, and graduated from the Royal College of Music with an Artist Diploma. He gained international attention in 2024 at the Davos Festival with these very Goldberg Variations, which he has since performed in numerous European cities.
Aleksandra Mikulska with Haydn, Schubert, Chopin and Schumann
Aleksandra Mikulska will perform the second concert evening with works by Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, and Frédéric Chopin. The focus of the second half will be Robert Schumann's Symphonic Etudes in C-sharp minor, Op. 13.

The professor at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden served as president of the Chopin Society Darmstadt from 2014 to 2024 and is well-known to local audiences through numerous concerts. Her musical training took her from Poland to Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Imola, and Hanover. She is a prizewinner of several international competitions and received a special prize at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2005.
Both concerts offer insights into the compositional work of the Classical and Romantic periods and promise a multifaceted piano evening with internationally renowned artists.
