Children can use sections of the street for playing in the afternoon
The city of Griesheim has announced that the "temporary play street" project will start again in April 2026. The aim is to provide children with safe, temporary play areas in public spaces.
Roads will be temporarily closed
Specific streets within the city limits have been designated for the project. Residents of these areas can apply to the city administration to have their street, or a section of it, closed for an afternoon.
The temporary play streets can be set up from Monday to Friday between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. During this time, the area is exclusively available for play and recreation.
Registration with the city administration is possible
The organization is handled by the Social Affairs and Sports Department of the City of Griesheim. Interested parties can obtain further information and apply for the establishment of a play street there. The contact person is Ms. Landau.
The project will run until September 2026 this year.
