Violations of steering and rest periods as well as a lack of load securing
In the event of a large -scale cross -border traffic control on the A5 motorway at the Graefenhausen Ost and West Rastan, the police found numerous violations on Wednesday evening (May 14th). The focus was on control of commercial freight transport . The operation took place as part of the security cooperation of several federal states.
Numerous complaints with 42 controlled vehicles
A total of 42 vehicles and their drivers were checked between 7:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. Only 13 vehicles showed no complaint.
In 15 cases, violations of the steering and rest periods found- including a driver from India who repeatedly violated the regulations. He had to deposit a security deposit of 655 euros and looks forward to an administrative offense procedure . The police emphasize the importance of such controls to raise awareness of safe and rested driving.
Defects in the case of load securing and hazard transportation
There were also several complaints when securing loads
- A Lithuanian truck with seeds was only allowed to continue after over two hours and rectification.
- German dangerous goods transport had to be secured; A procedure follows here too.
- A Czech car transporter with eight invited vehicles was completely pulled out of circulation - due to exceeded dimensions and serious defects in the securing, it was not possible to continue.
In addition, minor violations such as technical defects, missing warning boards or speed overrun were punished.
