Change of leadership: Chief of Police succeeds Tim Heinen
The Groß-Gerau police headquarters has a new head: Criminal Director Florian Steinkopf was officially sworn into his new position by Police President Björn Gutzeit on Tuesday (April 1). He succeeds Police Director Tim Heinen, who has transferred to the deportation detention center in Darmstadt-Eberstadt.
“With Florian Steinkopf, an experienced police officer is taking over as director. The Groß-Gerau police directorate is in the best hands with him,” said Police President Gutzeit.
Experience in various management roles
Florian Steinkopf, 47, has been a police officer since 2000. After his time on patrol in Offenbach and Frankfurt , he completed a master's degree and then transferred to the criminal investigation department. He subsequently held leadership positions, including at the criminal investigation departments in Offenbach and the Main-Kinzig district , in the staff of the Frankfurt Police Headquarters , and most recently at the Gießen Police Directorate , where he was already entrusted with managing the day-to-day operations.
“I am looking forward to my move to the South Hesse Police Headquarters and to working together with my new colleagues every day for the safety of the Groß-Gerau district,” Steinkopf declared at his inauguration.

Florian Steinkopf lives with his family in Frankfurt , is the father of two school-age children and in his free time is an enthusiastic fitness athlete , film and series fan and coffee lover .
