Griesheim. Many people wish to live in their familiar homes for as long as possible – even as physical limitations increase. An informational presentation on home modifications on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 , at 3 p.m. in Griesheim Town Hall (Meeting Room C, entrance on Schillerstrasse) .
The lecture is part of the lecture series organized by the Griesheim Senior Citizens' Office and provides practical insights into how living spaces can be made safer and more accessible. It will present structural, technical, and organizational measures that enable independent living in one's own home – often with simple and cost-effective modifications.
Early planning and funding opportunities
Speaker Tania Appel from the housing promotion department of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district provides information on specific redesign options, helpful technical support, as well as funding programs and subsidies that can be used for home modifications.
The presentation is aimed at senior citizens , people with physical disabilities , and anyone who wants to learn about accessible living at an early stage . Some everyday objects and technical aids will also be presented.
Registration is not required , participation is free .
