Digital professional orientation for young people and job seekers
Darmstadt. The science city of Darmstadt continues to support the educational project "We for Education - We4edu", which offers young people and job seekers a modern, practical professional orientation with digital tools. The project, which has existed since 2020, is particularly aimed at target groups that are difficult to reach in classic educational structures - such as young people aged 15 and over or adults without clear access to digital media and professional perspective.
"'We4edu' not only strengthens professional orientation, but also conveys basic digital skills. It promotes social participation, opens up professional opportunities and supports the personal development of the participants," explains Mayor and Social Affairs Director Barbara Akdeniz. It describes the project as an integral part of the municipal strategy for promoting vocational and training.
Innovative methods and personal approach
Central elements of the workshops are modern technologies such as virtual reality glasses and tablets. This enables professions to be experienced virtually or digital application training. In combination with pedagogical support, this creates a learning atmosphere that promotes trust, self -reflection and motivation.
The workshop team consists of young specialists with an interdisciplinary background. The psychologist Düet Reyyan Sag and media educator Fatma Zehra Yetkin are actively implemented. Both belong to generation Z and meet the participants at eye level.
"We rely on interactive methods that are fun and convey important skills at the same time. Personal relationships that arise in the workshops are particularly valued," explains Yetkin. Psychologist SAG adds: "Many participants experience their professional orientation as stressful or overwhelming. We give you space to recognize your strengths - with structure, clarity and digital aids."
Promotion by the city and country
The project is funded by the science city of Darmstadt and the Hessian Ministry of Labor, Integration, Youth and Social Affairs. The content of the content is modular and adapts flexibly to the respective needs - whether in schools, in transition systems or for free educational institutions.
Participants are consistently positive. So Leon says: "It was varied and really helped with professional orientation." And Sofia reports: "I learned a lot about myself-especially that I can do more than I thought. The VR glasses made the career exciting."
