Event series for young people relies on creativity, sensory experience and exchange - start on May 10th
With the “Rowing Time” , the Darmstadt -based department of addiction prevention of Netzwerk Rope EV starts an innovative approach to addiction prevention in public space. The aim is to address young people and young adults directly in their everyday life - in parks, in squares or at events. The project is funded by the science city of Darmstadt.
Mayor Barbara Akdeniz emphasizes: " The innovative project opens up new spaces for young people. It enables you to feel intense, feel alive and discover new things - without alcohol and drugs. "
Creative formats: "Info time" and "noise time"
The project includes two formats:
- "Info time" : A trained team offers low -threshold, playful information about addiction, consumer behavior and alternatives in the warmer months. " In addition to information, it is particularly important to us to listen. This is the only way we can develop our prevention work in a targeted manner ," explains Michelle Denk from the Addictive Prevention department.
- "Rowing time" : The focus here is on sensual experiences. Music, movement, art and mindfulness should enable intensive feelings and so-called flow states-without the use of addictive substances.
Kick -off event and appointments
The series of events starts on May 10 with the film screening "intoxicating emotions in religions and cultures" in the crown , followed by a discussion with cultural scientist ISIS Mrugalla-Kalmbacher. Mayor Barbara Akdeniz will officially open the series.
