Studying with a purpose: Social work, education and health in focus
The Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (EHD) is presenting itself at the AgenDA job fair as a specialized university for social work, inclusive education, and health. With its values-oriented profile and a clear focus on social participation, the university is providing information about its degree programs and study conditions.
Participation is the guiding principle of the university. Its aim is to analyze the causes of social exclusion and to develop concepts that enable people to participate on an equal footing. EHD combines academic reflection with practical training.
Personal atmosphere and manageable campus
Around 350 first-year students begin their studies at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt each year. Small seminar groups, a compact campus, and close student support characterize student life. Students and lecturers know each other personally, which allows for intensive support throughout the course of study.
The university is state-accredited and does not charge tuition fees. Study is possible regardless of religious affiliation. In addition to the campus in Darmstadt, there is also a study program in Schwalmstadt in northern Hesse.
Family-friendly and values-oriented
The Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt sees itself as a family-oriented university. Students with children or in special circumstances receive targeted support. For this commitment, the university has been certified with the Protestant Seal of Approval for Family Orientation.
At its core is an ethically grounded view of humanity. Students should be empowered to recognize and strengthen the resources of individuals and communities. Responsibility for equal opportunities and social justice is a central component of the university's self-conception.
