The author presents his new crime novel "Osthafen" at the Rosengarten Gallery
Darmstadt. The literary initiative of the KulturStärken e. V. association to a reading with author Ralf Schwob on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 , at 7:00 p.m. The event, part of the "Literary Scene South Hesse" , will take place in the gallery of the Rosengarten . Admission is free; donations are welcome.
The reading will be from the Frankfurt crime novel “Osthafen” (mainbook, 2024) – a suspenseful novel without embellishment, set in a dark milieu on the outskirts of the metropolis.
Between the underworld, emergency medicine, and a moral dilemma
The story centers on Alexander Bühler , a doctor without a medical license who provides makeshift care to criminals Frankfurt's East Harbor Adriana, a forced prostitute, is brought to him, he can no longer help her – but it quickly becomes clear that there is a larger story behind her death: A young boy is wandering alone through Frankfurt, searching for his mother. At the same time, a large sum of money is missing, which Adriana is believed to have stolen from her last client.
Ralf Schwob: A thriller author with his feet on the ground
the author worked for many years as a nurse before studying German literature and eventually switching to the book trade. His novels and short stories have received numerous awards. Schwob is a member of the Association of German Writers ( VS Hessen ) and co-organizer of the Ried Book Fair .
