German Polish Institute invites you to Prinz-Emil-Schlösschen on 20 October 2025
According to the German Polish Institute, Polish author Szczepan Twardoch "The Zero Line: A Novel from the War" on Monday, October 20, 2025. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Prinz-Emil-Schlösschen palace.
Twardoch has visited the front lines in Ukraine several times and incorporated his own experiences into his new novel. "The Zero Line" tells the story of Koń, who volunteers to join the Ukrainian army and experiences the brutal reality of war—between Kyiv and Donbas, between hope, death, and the existential search for meaning.
The evening will be moderated by Olaf Kühl. Peter Oliver Loew, Director of the German Polish Institute, will provide the welcome address. The event is organized by the German Polish Institute and the Polish Institute Düsseldorf.
