The German Polish Institute invites you to the Prince Emil Castle on October 20, 2025
As the German-Polish Institute announces, Polish writer Szczepan Twardoch "The Zero Line: A Novel from the War" on Monday, October 20, 2025. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Prinz-Emil-Schlösschen.
Twardoch has visited the front lines in Ukraine several times and incorporated his own experiences into his new novel. "The Zero Line" tells the story of Koń, who volunteers for the Ukrainian army and experiences the brutal reality of war – between Kyiv and Donbas, between hope, death, and an existential search for meaning.
The evening will be moderated by Olaf Kühl. Peter Oliver Loew, Director of the German-Polish Institute, will give the welcoming address. The event is organized by the German-Polish Institute and the Polish Institute Düsseldorf.
