Authors from the Ried book fair present their works
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Groß-Gerau City Library invites you to a special reading at 7:30 p.m. in its premises at Gernsheimer Straße 5. Winners of the Ried Book Fair's literary competition will present their award-winning stories – and admission is free.
Diverse stories on the theme of "Passing Through"
Under the theme "Passing Through," literary works full of depth, humor, and surprising perspectives were created:
- Jutta Janzen humorously recounts a young woman's struggle for autonomy.
- Julia Veits focuses on a flight attendant who never arrives.
- Robin Dietz delivers a breathtaking monologue.
- Tamara Krappmann enchants with a poetic story about the Rhine and the afterlife.
- Dieter Stiewi received the special "Horror" prize for his text.
- Thomas Fuhlbrügge was awarded third place for his article on organ trafficking.
Moderation and insights into the competition
The event will be moderated by jury members Ralf Schwob and René Granacher , who will also provide insights into the literary competition and the book fair in Ried .
“This event offers a wonderful preview of the book fair and shows how diverse and creative the submitted texts are,” said Pamela Baer , head of the Groß-Gerau city library.
Getting in the mood for the book fair in Ried
The reading serves as a prelude to the 28th Ried Book Fair , which will be opened on March 8, 2025 in the Stockstadt Altrheinhalle with the awarding of the current literary prize on the theme of "protected area" .
