Safe connection between Eberstadt and the Eberstadt train station
The science city of Darmstadt and Deutsche Bahn daughter DB Infrago AG recently completed a planning agreement for the renovation of the listed railway overpass Pfungstädter Straße in Darmstadt. In addition, the construction of a new railway underpass for a combined walking and bike path is planned parallel to the B426, directly adjacent to the existing transfer.
The new building also includes all the necessary connection work. "With this agreement, we create the basis for a secure connection from Eberstadt to Eberstadt train station," explains mobility director Paul Georg Wandrey. "With the implementation of the walking and cycling path, we will end a situation that not only feels, but also actually insecure."
These technically demanding renovation and new construction projects are implemented in sections and in close coordination between the partners involved. The coordination of railway and road construction as well as the associated connection works is carefully planned to ensure efficient and smooth implementation. Particular attention is paid to the guarantee of security during the entire construction period. The measures are organized in such a way that the railway operation and road traffic can be maintained as far as possible.
