City strengthens civil protection with new water level sensors
Reinheim. In times of increasing heavy rainfall events, the city of Reinheim is relying on proactive flood prevention: Modern water level sensors at several locations throughout the city now enable continuous monitoring of water levels and early response in the event of an emergency.
Sensors are currently installed at four critical points – on Karl-Marx-Straße , at Cestasplatz , on Georgenstraße and at the Zeilhard stormwater overflow basin be viewed "Civil Protection" menu item
In addition to the current water level, the system also indicates whether the water level is rising or remaining constant. A traffic light system also provides information about the current danger level.
"By installing these water level gauges at critical points, we are further expanding civil protection for our citizens," explains Mayor Manuel Feick .
"This allows everyone to inform themselves about the current situation. Above all, the measurement data enables the crisis management team to respond quickly and specifically should a dangerous situation arise. This increases the safety of the people in our city."
Citizens who have questions about the new water level measuring stations or flood prevention can contact the Reinheim Public Order Office find further information on the website www.reinheim.de
