The city is investing in sustainability and providing long-term relief for residents
The town of Reinheim has successfully completed the energy-efficient renovation of the senior citizens' residence on Grabenstraße. With this project, the municipality is taking another step towards sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate protection.
Extensive modernization implemented
A total of approximately €2.5 million was invested in the modernization. The aim was to bring the building up to modern technical and energy efficiency standards.
Key measures include a photovoltaic system, the use of a heat pump, new triple-glazed windows, and comprehensive insulation of the facade and roof.
Climate protection and social responsibility
The renovation is intended to significantly reduce energy consumption and simultaneously lower CO₂ emissions. In addition, residents will benefit from lower utility costs in the long term.
A particular focus was placed on implementing the construction work in such a way that people could remain in their homes throughout the entire period.
Contribution to the municipal energy transition
The project serves as an example of how existing buildings can be sustainably modernized. Despite structural challenges, a solution was implemented that takes both ecological and social aspects into account.
The city of Reinheim continues to pursue the goal of gradually upgrading the energy efficiency of municipal buildings and thus contributing to the energy transition.
