Volunteers will help repair small appliances on March 21st
will take place again in the old town hall of Riedstadt-Crumstadt on Saturday, March 21st . From 2 pm to 5 pm, visitors can repair broken small appliances together with volunteer helpers in the building at Poppenheimer Straße 1.
Self-help guide for electrical appliances and toys
At the repair café, items such as hand mixers, kitchen radios, and other small electrical appliances are repaired under guidance. Broken wooden toys or playground equipment can also be brought in.
The support is based on the principle of helping people to help themselves and is free of charge. Only necessary spare parts must be paid for at cost. Large household appliances and fully automatic coffee machines cannot be repaired at the repair café. All appliances must be taken away after the appointment – even if a repair was not possible.
Wide variety of repairs
The variety of tasks involved was already evident at the appointment in January. Among other things, hair dryers, coffee machines, CD players, a slide projector, lamps, radios, robotic vacuum cleaners, printers, irons, cordless screwdrivers, and stand mixers were repaired.
Due to high demand, there may be occasional waiting times. The team of volunteer repairers asks for your understanding.
Local history museum also open
During the Repair Café, the neighboring local history museum in Crumstadt is also open and invites visitors to come and see it.
Since there are only a few parking spaces around the old town hall, parking is also possible at the rear of the building during the event.
Volunteer helpers wanted
The Repair Café team is also looking for more skilled tradespeople who would like to volunteer. For more information, please contact Uwe Stenzel by phone at 06158 4277 or by email at uwe_stenzel@gmx.de .
