Self-help assistance with tools, coffee and cake in the old town hall
As the volunteer organizers announce, the repair café in the old town hall of Crumstadt will reopen its doors on Friday, July 12th. Between 2 pm and 5 pm, broken everyday items such as kitchen radios, hand mixers, or lamps can be brought in for repair.
Volunteer service for broken small appliances
The repair café at Poppenheimer Straße 1 offers hands-on assistance with small appliances – repairs are carried out together with visitors under guidance. Coffee and cake are also available. The aim is to reduce waste, promote practical skills, and strengthen community ties.
A look back at the last meeting in May shows the variety of repaired items: from mixers, toasters and sewing machines to floor lamps, record players or nostalgic radios, everything was there – often with successful results.
No large appliances, but creative solutions
Wooden toys and play equipment can also be brought in for repair. The self-help service is free; only replacement parts must be paid for at cost. Large appliances and fully automatic coffee machines are not accepted. Any broken items that could not be repaired must also be taken back.
As parking is limited, parking is available at the rear of the old town hall during opening hours.
The Repair Café team welcomes new volunteers with practical skills. Those interested can contact Uwe Stenzel by phone at 06158 4277 or by email at uwe_stenzel@gmx.de .
