Sustainability in action: 34th Repair Café on June 28th with practical help and a technology demonstration
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Eberstadt Repair Café will open its doors for the 34th time from 2 pm to 5 pm – this time with a new highlight: a presentation on 3D printing technology . The event will take place at Werkhof Darmstadt e. V., Grenzallee 4–6.
In keeping with the principles of sustainability and resource conservation, the focus is volunteer repair of broken everyday items. Whether electrical appliances, bicycles, small furniture, or clothing – volunteer repairers help with repairs and offer tips for continued use. Foodsharing Darmstadt e. V. is also participating again, ensuring the responsible distribution of food.
New this year: An introduction to 3D printing technology . Expert consultants will be available to answer questions and demonstrate, using practical examples, how spare parts and functional components can be printed directly on site.
The neighborhood café is open for refreshments and to foster community spirit. It offers homemade cakes, coffee, tea, and water – served in a relaxed atmosphere. The repair café sees itself not only as a place for help but also as a meeting point for people of diverse backgrounds in Eberstadt. Its aim is to promote local cohesion and neighborly exchange
The Repair Café is a collaborative project of the Eberstadt Senior Network , the City of Darmstadt , Werkhof Darmstadt e. V. Nala project , and the Caritas Center Eberstadt South . Participation is free; donations to support the project are welcome.
Note: To ensure the long-term continuation of the project, we are still volunteers and skilled workers.
