Construction work in Griesheim is expected to last until mid-March
Road construction work in the Griesheim Southwest residential area resumed on Monday, February 2, 2026. As the city of Griesheim reports, the pedestrian and bicycle path on the west side of Oberndorfer Straße is currently being demolished as part of the ongoing work.
In this context, access to Elisabeth-Selbert-Straße and Marie-Curie-Straße from Oberndorfer Straße is closed. Residents were informed in advance that access to their properties is only possible via Sophie-Scholl-Straße.
Detours have been set up for pedestrian and bicycle traffic
Pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted from Flecksweg to the east side of Oberndorfer Straße. A safe crossing is possible via the pedestrian traffic light towards Magdalenenstraße. Those wishing to reach the specialist shops can cross the road again at the roundabout.
Depending on the weather, the construction work is expected to last until mid-March. If temperatures are sufficiently high, the plan is to also lay the asphalt surface layer on Marie-Curie-Straße and the southern section of Sophie-Scholl-Straße during this period.
