Mayor Kretschmann thanks Frank Schaffner and Carmen Funck for decades of service
Riedstadt. Mayor Marcus Kretschmann bid farewell to two long-serving employees as they entered retirement: Frank Schaffner, deputy head of the Public Safety and Order department, and Carmen Funck, most recently responsible for cemetery administration in the building authority. Both could look back on impressively long careers – Schaffner for 46 years in public service, and Funck for an impressive 48 years, all of them with the administration of the town of Riedstadt.
Frank Schaffner: 37 years in the service of the city
After completing his training at the Mühlheim Police Academy and subsequent service with the police, Frank Schaffner transferred to the public order office of the municipality of Riedstadt on April 1, 1988. From December 1, 2008, until his retirement on September 30, 2025, he served as deputy head of the Public Safety and Order department. Mayor Kretschmann praised his decades of dedication to the safety and well-being of the residents of Riedstadt.
Carmen Funck: 48 years of administrative experience
Carmen Funck began her training on September 1, 1977, in the Riedstadt administration and remained there until her retirement on August 31, 2025. She initially worked in the social services department before transferring to the building department in 2005. There, she was responsible for cemetery administration until her retirement. Her career path led her from entering the higher civil service in 1979 through several promotions to her appointment as senior inspector in 1990.
Mayor Kretschmann thanked both retirees for their decades of loyalty and wished them all the best for this new phase of their lives.
