Volunteer excursion brings joy and variety to the residents of St. Ludwig
Five senior citizens from the St. Ludwig enjoyed a special outing on Thursday, June 5th : Together with Mayor Ralf Möller , who pedaled the rickshaw himself, they traveled to the popular Kellerranch . The mayor was accompanied by two other volunteer rickshaw drivers.
"It's always a great joy to see how much fun and variety these tours bring to the seniors," said Möller after the trip. The excursions enable older people to participate in social life and open up new perspectives in their everyday lives.
Rickshaw rides promote participation
The trip to the Kellerranch took place in perfect weather and a relaxed atmosphere – an experience that clearly brought joy to all participants. The town of Weiterstadt is convinced that such initiatives strengthen community spirit and promote social participation among the elderly .
Anyone who would like to experience riding in a rickshaw will have the opportunity at the next event: as part of the new residents' bike tour on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
