Kranichsteiner Straße is being repaired – temporary bus stops are being set up.
The city of Darmstadt will be carrying out roadworks on Kranichsteiner Straße in the area of the "Am Karlshof" bus stop (inbound) from Friday, December 12, until approximately Tuesday, December 23. The damaged road surface will be renewed over a length of about 30 meters. This will involve milling off approximately 12 centimeters of the asphalt surface and then rebuilding it with a semi-rigid surface course. This requires a curing time of about one week and the road will remain closed until December 23.
Both "Am Karlshof" bus stops will be relocated approximately 50 meters north during the construction phase. Temporary stops will be set up and signposted by HEAG mobilo. Traffic will be managed past the construction site using a two-way traffic system, which may cause delays.
Mobility officer Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes the importance of the measure: “A functioning and safe transport infrastructure requires regular maintenance. We are deliberately acting early here to avoid greater damage and more costly interventions. This ensures that Kranichsteiner Straße remains efficient in the long term.”
The work is part of the 2025 road renovation program. The construction costs amount to approximately 72,000 euros.
