Darmstadt martial arts school achieves 39 podium finishes – Ben Gebhardt wins the individual title at the WMAC World Championships
The SAN-TI martial arts school from Darmstadt-Eberstadt has returned from the WMAC World Championships in Bregenz with 39 podium finishes. According to the school, 1,822 athletes from 36 nations competed there from September 17th to 20th, 2026, in a total of 3,549 events.
The Darmstadt team finished with 13 first, 18 second, and eight third places . In the overall ranking of the 132 participating schools, clubs, and associations, SAN-TI thus achieved fifth place.
Ben Gebhardt wins the individual competition
Ben Gebhardt was particularly successful, taking first place in the individual standings with 100 points. Jernellio Inglese came in third with 79 points, and Din Pullmann finished fourth with 76 points. Noah Pullmann finished 13th with 54 points, and Amina Gadzo 43rd with five points. According to SAN-TI, a total of 891 medal winners were listed in this ranking.
Amina Gadzo was the only female competitor on the Darmstadt team. She won bronze in the point fighting competition for seven- to eleven-year-olds in the under 25 kg category. For Nhyira Lade, the event marked his first World Championship. As the youngest competitor on the Darmstadt team, he also competed in point fighting.
Juniors win two team titles
SAN-TI also achieved several podium finishes in the team competitions. In the junior division, the martial arts school won both the Pointfighting Tag Team and the Karate Kumite Tag Team titles.
Some of the young athletes also competed in the adult category. In the men's point fighting tag team event, 14-year-old Ben Gebhardt and 16-year-old Din Pullmann, together with Pascal Nasser, achieved second place. Also 14 years old, Jernellio Inglese was the team's reserve fighter.
A young SAN-TI team also took second place in the men's karate kumite. They were supported by Austrian competitor Tian Vajda. Two more second-place finishes were achieved in the junior and adult point fighting mixed team competitions.
Five athletes nominated for national team
According to the martial arts school, five members of SAN-TI have been nominated for the WMAC national team in the areas of point fighting and karate kumite: Din Pullmann, Ben Gebhardt, Jernellio Inglese, Noah Pullmann and Amina Gadzo.
Amir Gadzo had to cancel his planned start at short notice due to an injury, but accompanied the team to Bregenz. The athletes were prepared and coached by champion and trainer Tino Inglese and his coaching team.
