Free training for educational specialists-badge examination also possible on site in the future
The DLRG Eberstadt takes part in the nationwide “Sea Horse for everyone” project, which the German Lebens-Rettungs Society carries out together with its partner Nivea. The aim is to qualify more pedagogical specialists into rescue swimmers and later swimming instructors -so that more children learn to swim safely in the future.
Current numbers show: 20 percent of children between the ages of six and ten cannot swim-twice as many as in 2017. The project wants to counteract this by being allowed to take the seahorse badge themselves in the future. Educators, teachers and day care workers are addressed.
Training in several steps
In a first step, the participants at the DLRG on site - in Eberstadt - complete a rescue swimming and acquire the lifeguard badge in silver . Building on this, two courses follow:
- Swimming assistant training : In a two -day course, methods are conveyed in order to introduce children to water, safety and initial swimming movements in a playful way.
- Swimming training assistant : This second two -day course enables the seahorse to accept and is recognized by the German Olympic Sports Association (DOSB) as a preliminary level qualification for a trainer license.
Participation is free
Thanks to the support from Nivea, participation in the entire program is free of charge. The courses are also considered recognized further training. In addition to the qualification, the project also offers personal advantages: swimming is considered a particularly healthy and joint -friendly sport - a good balance to everyday work in the pedagogical field.
