Max Panhans was elected chairman by a large majority
The new municipal council in Seeheim-Jugenheim has convened, officially beginning its term. The election of the council chairperson was the main focus of the meeting.
Clear majority for new chairman
Max Panhans was elected chairman with more than 94 percent of the votes. The result is seen as a clear sign of confidence within parliament.
Panhans announced that he would perform his duties in a non-partisan manner and advocate for respectful coexistence. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of local politics for community life.
Further personnel decisions made
In addition to electing the chairperson, the deputy chairpersons were also appointed. Julia Sydow was elected as deputy chairperson.
Furthermore, the municipal council confirmed the validity of the local elections and appointed representatives for various committees, commissions and associations.
Municipal council sworn in
Among the first tasks of the new chairman was the swearing-in and appointment of the municipal council. Thomas Fischbach, Dieter Lang, and Hans-Gerd Lindlar, among others, will assume responsibility for the CDU.
A constructive start to the new legislative period
According to those involved, the meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere. The allocation of positions was based on the parties' election results.
With its constitution, the starting signal has been given for local political work in the coming years.
