Exchange for people with bipolar disorder starts once a month
A new support group for people with bipolar disorder has been formed in Groß-Gerau. Under the name "The Polar Lights," it now invites people to a two-hour open discussion once a month.
Bipolar disorder—also known as manic-depressive illness—is characterized by alternating periods of depression with manic or hypomanic episodes. The associated mood swings often burden not only those affected but also those around them. Coping with the condition every day requires a great deal of strength, patience, and understanding.
This is precisely where the new group aims to address this issue: In a safe environment, those affected can meet, share experiences, and offer mutual support. The focus is on listening, understanding, and the shared search for ways to live well with the illness.
Further information on meeting points and dates is available from the Groß-Gerau self-help office :

The group is a self-organized association of those affected and is not a substitute for therapy. Participation is free of charge.
