New program starting September 1st – over 50 courses offered for the first time
The Darmstadt Adult Education Center (VHS) begins its fall semester on Monday, September 1st. With nearly 600 courses covering all aspects of life, a comprehensive program is available. More than 50 new formats spark interest in topics such as sustainability and the digital future. New additions to the program include a sustainable bike tour through the city and the course format "The Week," which uses film clips to provide a practical exploration of climate change.
Extended services at the M² location
The services offered at the M² location have been further expanded. In addition to open meetings, there are free events on consumer issues as well as educational counseling on training and careers. These will be available from September in the new building at the North Vocational School Center.
Focus on lifelong learning
The Darmstadt Adult Education Center (vhs Darmstadt) focuses its program on lifelong learning, professional development, and personal growth. Its offerings cover the areas of languages, creativity, health, digitalization, and social responsibility.

Holger Klötzner, Head of Education, emphasizes: “A diverse range of courses strengthens the city's society because it gives people of all generations the opportunity to further their education, acquire new skills, and actively participate in the community. Sharing knowledge contributes to social participation.”
Information and advice
The complete program is available online, at the Justus Liebig House (Große Bachgasse 2), and at 30 other locations throughout the city. Free language consultations will be held at the Justus Liebig House on August 21 and 26.
New opening hours will apply to the vhs service office from September onwards:
- Monday and Thursday: 9–12 am
- Tuesday and Thursday: 2–5 pm
