Guided tours, walks, a film presentation and a bike tour are planned
Darmstadt is once again offering a diverse program for senior citizens in April. Planned activities include guided tours, walks, a film presentation, and a bicycle tour.
Guided tour of the Bessungen Orangery Garden
on Friday, April 10th , starting at 2 pm . The meeting point is at the main entrance of the Darmstadt Orangery at Bessunger Straße 44. The tour will last approximately one and a half hours.
Film presentation at the House of History
On Monday, April 13th , Bessungen filmmaker Heinz Aßmann will present several films about Darmstadt topics at 4 pm at the House of History in Darmstadt. The program includes contributions on "Günther Körner (Riwwelmaddes) – Darmstadt was his life," "The citizens of the Bessungen district," and "Darmstadt architecture in the past."
Botanical walk across the Rosenhöhe
A botanical walk through the Rosenhöhe in Darmstadt will take place on Tuesday, April 14th . The meeting point is at 10:30 a.m. at the gatehouse on Thießweg. Participants will receive information about the plants and the history of the grounds.
An insight into the work of beekeeping
On Monday, April 20th , the Roßdorf and Surrounding Area Beekeeping Association will present its work. The guided tour begins at 2 pm at the teaching apiary in Roßdorf. Afterwards, participants are invited to coffee, tea, and honey rolls. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
A walk across the Mathildenhöhe
Another walking tour will take place on Friday, April 24th , starting at 10:00 AM Along the way, participants will be introduced to monuments, the Vortex Garden, and Art Nouveau villas of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Bike tour to Langen
The first bike tour of the year starts on Monday, April 27th , at 9:30 a.m. at Europaplatz. The route leads along the cycle highway to Langen (Hesse). Stops are planned at Steinrodsee and Egelsbach airfield.
Dance afternoons in Eberstadt and Kranichstein
On Thursday, April 23rd , a dance afternoon will take place from 2:30 pm to 5 pm in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal Darmstadt-Eberstadt.
On Friday, April 17th , from 2:30 pm to 5 pm, €4.20 for each event .
Participation and registration
Unless otherwise stated, the events are free of charge and are aimed at residents aged 65 and over. Registration is required for all events – with the exception of the two dance events.
