The district invites you to "Datterich" performances in March 2026
The Darmstadt-Dieburg district, in cooperation with the Darmstadt State Theatre, senior citizens to two special theatre afternoons. On Tuesday, March 17th , and Tuesday, March 31st, 2026 , the Darmstadt local farce "Datterich" Hans-Joachim Heist plays the lead role .
Darmstadt classic with tradition
"Datterich" by Ernst Elias Niebergall is one of the best-known plays in southern Hesse. This humorous yet socially critical comedy has been firmly rooted in Darmstadt's cultural heritage since the 19th century and has been performed by the Hessian Theatre Company .
The story centers on the eponymous Datterich , an eloquent, indebted former tax secretary who tries to make his way through life with resourcefulness and audacity. With biting wit, vibrant characters, and pointed dialogue, Niebergall paints a timeless picture of human weaknesses and societal contrasts.
Performance dates and schedule
The Darmstadt State Theatre is presenting the play this season in cooperation with the Hessian Theatre Association 1925 e.V. Performances
begin at 4 pm and last until approximately 6:15 pm .
Tickets are available through the senior citizens' office
The admission price is €12 . The Griesheim Senior Citizens' Office has reserved a number of tickets for both dates. Sales begin on Monday, January 12, 2026 , at the Senior Citizens' Office, Im Leuschnerpark 4, Entrance B, 4th floor .
