Zoo educator explains cultural perspectives on animals
The Vivarium Zoo in Darmstadt invites senior citizens to a guided tour entitled "Animals in Folklore" Wednesday, March 25th . The event is specifically aimed at older visitors and begins at 10:00 a.m. at the zoo school.
Animals and their significance in different cultures
The tour will be led by zoo educator Frank Velte. It will focus on the different meanings of animals in various cultures and folklore.
Vultures are one example: In some cultures they were considered companions of a god, while in other traditions they were viewed with disgust. At the same time, they were also interpreted as a symbol of parental care.
Participation and costs
€4.50 per person for participation .
