A wide range of offers in August and September 2025 for citizens aged 65 and over
Darmstadt. The city of Darmstadt, known for its science programs, is once again offering numerous activities for citizens aged 65 and over in the coming weeks as part of its senior citizens' program. The offerings range from computer courses and dance events to guided hikes and tours.
PC training courses at the Heinrich-Emanuel-Merck School
Every Tuesday from 1:35 pm to 2:50 pm, students support senior citizens in the safe use of computers, smartphones and the internet.
- Course III: August 26, September 2, 9 and 16
- Course IV: September 30, October 21 and 28, and November 4.

Dance afternoons in Kranichstein and Eberstadt
Under the motto "There will be dancing again in Darmstadt!", social dance events will take place from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
- Kranichstein (Luise-Büchner-Haus): September 19, October 31, November 14
- Eberstadt (Ernst-Ludwig-Saal): September 25, October 23, November 27.
Admission: €4.20 per person. Coffee, cake, and drinks will be available. No registration required.
Hikes and guided tours
- September 4th, 2 pm: Hike to Ludwigshöhe, meeting point: parking lot of the Academy of Music, Ludwigshöhstraße 120. Duration: approx. 1–1.5 hours.
- September 12, 3 p.m.: Guided tour of the State Archives “Mills, Locks and Wells”, meeting point: Karolinenplatz 3. Duration: approx. 1.5 hours.
- September 24, 2 p.m.: Guided tour of the Bessungen Orangery Garden, meeting point: entrance to the Orangery building, Bessunger Straße 44. Duration: approx. 1.5 hours.
- September 29, 2:30 p.m.: Guided tour of the paper theater venues of the Walter Röhler Paper Theater Collection, Darmstraße 2. Duration: approx. 1 hour.
