A week of "Mariandl" feeling: Passau, Danube, Regensburg & lots of music
The first senior citizens' trip organized by the Büchner town of Riedstadt in 2026 will take place from May 17th to 23rd in the Bavarian Forest – to the music and wellness hotel "Mariandl – Der singende Wirt" in Elisabethszell. Volunteer organizer Walter Dörr has put together a diverse program: a panoramic tour through the Bavarian Forest, Passau with its Veste Oberhaus fortress and a cathedral concert (featuring the world's largest church organ), plus a two-hour Danube river cruise on the Swarovski crystal ship. Also planned: the Danube Gorge from Kelheim to Weltenburg with a stop at the world's oldest monastery brewery, followed by a trip to Regensburg . Another excursion will take participants to Straubing . Those who wish can experience the Maibrunn treetop walkway and the "Bayerwaldflieger" – a virtual tour in a real airplane cockpit (optional, separate admission fee applies).
