Pädscherstrampler of SG Dornheim on the road in the Odenwald – praise for successful May tour
Twenty-six members of the "Pädscherstrampler" hiking group from SG Dornheim gathered at the Hotel Brandhof parking lot for their May hike. The approximately ten-kilometer tour led through the Stettbach Valley in the Odenwald forest in good hiking weather.
Right from the start, the trail led through a light beech forest, with constant ups and downs, towards Ober-Beerbach. At the viewpoint just before the village, there was a wide view to the west and north – even the Frankfurt skyline was visible. Under a partly cloudy sky and with an occasional cold wind, the hikers enjoyed a pleasant spring walk.
After a short rest at the idyllic fairytale pond, the hike continued along the Ober-Beerbach valley towards Seeheim. The shelter in the woods just before the village served as a welcome stop for a well-deserved refreshment.
On the return journey, the steep climb to the Tannenberg ruins was deliberately omitted. Instead, the route led along natural paths past the Lufthansa training center to the Heiligenberg monastery ruins with their distinctive central linden tree and golden cross. Another highlight was the historic arcade leading directly to Heiligenberg Castle.
The hike concluded with everyone descending back to the parking lot and enjoying a relaxing meal at the Brandhof restaurant. Renate and Ilsa, who organized the tour, received much praise for the successful and varied hike.
