Pädscherstramler of SG Dornheim on the way in the Odenwald-praise for successful May tour
For the May hike of the SG Dornheim, 26 members of the “Pedscherstramler” hiking department gathered at the parking lot of the Hotel Brandhof. The approximately ten -kilometer tour led through the Stettbacher valley in the Odenwald in good hiking weather.
Right from the start it went through light beech forest in the up and down towards Ober-Beerbach. At the viewpoint in front of the town there was a further look to the west and north - even the Frankfurt skyline was recognizable. With slightly cloudy sky and occasionally cold wind, the wandering enjoyed an atmospheric spring tour.
After a short rest on the idyllic fairy tale pond, we continued along the Ober-Beerbacher valley towards the Seeheim. The shelter in the forest shortly before the town served as a stopover for well -deserved strengthening.
On the way back, the steep climb to the Ruine Tannenberg was deliberately left out. Instead, the path led past the Lufthansa training center on natural paths to the Heiligenberg monastery ruin with the striking hundredweight and the Golden Cross. Another highlight was the historic arcade, which leads directly to the Heiligenberg Castle.
The conclusion was the joint descent back to the parking lot and the cozy stop in the Brandhof restaurant. Renate and Ilsa, who had organized the tour, received a lot of praise for the successful and varied hike.
