Between marathon, triathlon and family life – how Marina Lefort combines her passion for endurance sports with everyday life and work
Marina Lefort has been a member of the triathlon section of SG Arheilgen since 2021 – and has since settled into the endurance sport with great discipline and enthusiasm. In an interview with Kathrin Ortland, the section's press officer, the athlete gives a personal insight into her sporting career, her training routine, and her goals for 2025.
Marina originally only wanted to learn to swim freestyle – a friend drew her attention to the SGA's program. She had been a member of the club for a long time, so joining the triathlon section was a natural step. Previously, she was primarily active as a runner, and Pilates and yoga were also part of her regular training.
Sport, family, and career – how does that work?
“I have relatively fixed training times – usually before or after work, sometimes at lunchtime,” she explains. The key lies in good organization, discipline, and a bit of flexibility. “If business trips or family activities are coming up, I adjust my training accordingly.”
Triathlon at 50 – with ambition and fun
. Marina has just moved up to the 50-54 age group. After successfully finishing the 2024 New York Marathon, her next big competition is already on the calendar: the Berlin Marathon on September 21, 2025. Two team competitions in the triathlon league are also planned, as well as smaller road races in the region. And of course, she wants to have fun too: "I finally want to participate in our club's hill climb time trial – from Frankenstein up, a week after Berlin!"
