Heat bridges shine in bright colors
The team from the Passive House Institute and the Büchnerstadt Riedstadt works with high pressure on suggestions for the new renovation areas in Crumstadt, Goddelau and Leeheim. "We collect data from different sources and represent them in a geographic information system," explains Dr. Jürgen Schnieders, Managing Director at the Passive House Institute.
One problem is that different sources use other spellings for the same address. “That is why the consolidation of the data is difficult. But we have a good overview and are currently developing suggestions for the delimitation of the areas, ”continued Schnieders. “We will present the suggestions in a workshop discussion on Monday, January 27 from 6:30 p.m. in the town hall and integrate the citizens into the decision. The decision in the city council is then planned for March. The renovations with tax relief can start before Easter, ”says Mayor Marcus Kretschmann.
The citizens can already get involved. “We ask everyone interested to fill the questionnaire at www.klimafreundliche-riedstadt.de . This helps us enormously with the assessment of what is possible in Riedstadt and where there is still a need for clarification, ”explains Benjamin Krick, renovation manager of the Büchnerstadt. On the website there is also a tool for recording the energy consumption of buildings that makes suggestions for individual renovation.
From mid-January, preferably in the late evening or early morning hours, a team with a thermal camera is also on the road in the districts. With this camera, weaknesses of the buildings, so-called thermal bridges, are made visible in bright yellow and red tones. The images recorded from the street space should be supplemented by the data already recorded and later also made available to interested citizens.
