The St. Elisabeth Choir invites you to Advent singing by candlelight.
As the ecumenical church shop Kirche & Co. announces, a sing-along concert for the Lucia Festival Friday, December 12th . It begins at 6 p.m. in front of the church shop, An der Stadtkirche 1 in Darmstadt. The concert will be performed by singers from the St. Elisabeth Choir .
The sing-along concert on the eve of the Lucia Festival invites you to a contemplative hour by candlelight, an Advent atmosphere, and shared music. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the community center of the Evangelical City Church (2nd floor).
The Feast of Saint Lucia traditionally symbolizes light, compassion, and community . This message will be brought to life – especially during the dark winter months – through songs, lights, and music under the direction of Esther Frankenberger . The concert is a collaboration between Kirche & Co. and the Catholic Women's Association of Germany (kfd) in the Darmstadt area.
Extended opening hours during Advent
The church shop also points out changed opening hours:
- Open additionally on Saturdays from 11:30 am to 3 pm until December 20th.
- Regular times:
- Monday–Thursday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Friday: 10am–1pm
Christmas break: Closed from December 24th to January 4th.
The following hours apply during the remaining holiday periods:
- Monday and Wednesday–Friday: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Tuesday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Regular opening hours will resume after the holidays.
