As the Darmstadt Concert Choir announces, the Christuskirche Darmstadt-Eberstadt into a large, participatory soundscape on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 5 p.m. sing-along "Come one, come all, sing everything!", W.A. Mozart's "Great Mass in C minor" together with the orchestra and soloists .
Right in the middle of the music scene
Under the direction of Wolfgang Seeliger, the singers, together with the Darmstadt Court Orchestra and four renowned soloists, will create a special musical experience. This format also offers experienced choral singers an opportunity to learn or refresh their knowledge of the work – ideal for choirs planning to perform the Mass themselves in the near future.
A masterpiece of church music
Mozart's "Great Mass in C minor" is considered one of his most important sacred works. The composer began work on it in Vienna in 1782, presumably as a dedication to his wife Constanze. Although the mass remained unfinished, it continues to impress with its musical grandeur, its spiritual depth, and its fusion of Baroque polyphony with the expressiveness of Viennese Classicism.
SingAlong as a hidden gem
The participatory concert has become a well-kept secret among singers, because a large work can be performed with real orchestral accompaniment – an experience that digital offerings cannot replace.
Tickets available
The event is part of the Dotter Concerts series presented by the Hans Erich and Marie Elfriede Dotter Foundation. A modest admission fee will be charged, the proceeds of which will benefit the musicians' and soloists' fees.
Tickets are available online at www.konzertchor-darmstadt.de and www.ztix.de (Print@Home).
