The project was launched in 2015 2,000 children from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. The joint rehearsals and performances in front of an audience foster a sense of belonging and self-confidence among the children. Music connects generations and cultures.
For the first time this year, the concert is being organized by two LIONS Clubs : the LIONS Club Darmstadt-Mathildenhöhe and the LIONS Club Louise Büchner . The proceeds from the concert will go to the participating schools to strengthen music education and promote inclusion and community
Mayor Barbara Akdeniz emphasizes the importance of the event:
"The children's choir concert has become a traditional event. Singing together, experiencing themselves as a community, and enchanting the audience – this is a special experience for the children that they will remember for a long time. The diversity of the children makes the concert a unique experience."
“‘Singing Makes Class’ is more than just a concert – it is a sign of the power of music as an integrative element and a call to strengthen tolerance and cohesion in our society,” Akdeniz continued.
