Tactical skill and strong individual performance in Filderstadt and Usingen
The second of five match days in the Skat Bundesliga took place on April 5th. The Gräfenhausen Skat Club was represented by two teams, one in the 3rd Bundesliga and the other in the South Hesse regional league.
Bundesliga team secures important points
Team 1 competed in the 3rd Bundesliga against the host team "Drei Könige Tübingen" in Filderstadt. The team consisted of Wolfgang Schroth, Sascha Dechert, Martin Steiger, Martina Schmidt, and substitute player Andreas Färber. The three series of matches demanded considerable tactical skill and stamina . Despite a difficult start with scores of 1:2 and 0:3, the team secured a crucial 3:0 victory in the third series. With this result, Gräfenhausen 1 now sits in 12th place with a record of 7:11 – and is currently out of the relegation zone.
State league team with best performance of the day
Team 2 was also in action – at the Landesliga match day in Usingen against hosts "Herz As Merzhausen". Michael Geißer, Henry Deutzer, Hildegard Vowinkel, and Kerstin Banyay impressed with two strong 3-0 victories and a narrow 0-3 loss in the second round. Michael Geißer's outstanding performance: he scored 4,014 game points – the best result of the day among all 72 players in the Landesliga Süd. Gräfenhausen 2 currently sits in 9th place in the standings with a record of 9 wins and 9 losses.
Skat enthusiasts invite you to a game night
The regular card game night of the Gräfenhausen Skat Club takes place as usual on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the club's premises, "Gamebox," located at Schneppenhäuser Straße 5 in Weiterstadt-Gräfenhausen. Guests are always welcome.
