Heiner Solarberatung provides independent support to households regarding photovoltaics
The volunteer initiative Heiner Solarberatung Darmstadt Eberstadt offers households in Darmstadt free and independent advice on photovoltaic systems. The aim is to make it easier to generate their own solar power and to enable well-informed decisions.
Individual consultation directly on site
The service includes, among other things, a personal on-site consultation. During this consultation, the advisors analyze the conditions of the house and provide an assessment of the optimal system size in relation to individual electricity consumption.
The scope of services also includes:
- Roof occupancy plan
- Cost estimate
- Payback period calculation
- individual consultation on implementation
The integration of a heat pump is also considered during the planning phase. Based on a final report, interested parties can then request targeted quotes from specialist companies. Upon request, the initiative also provides support in evaluating these quotes.
Practical example from Eberstadt
A family from Darmstadt-Eberstadt reported positive experiences with the consultation. After the analysis, they opted for a system with 34 modules and a 12 kWh storage unit. Installation was carried out by a local contractor, and the system has been operational since May 2025. Further steps, such as integrating a heat pump and using an electric car, are already planned.
